A Horse With No Name

Dan Peek is singing before God today! Dan is famous for his rock band America and the #1 hit, “A Horse With No Name”. Today, Dan went to be with the Lord yesterday, July 26th. I have enjoyed his music for years but it wasn’t until today that I realized he gave his life to Jesus. He has a great testimony that I would like to share with you.

Please say a prayer for his family, that God comforts them. It’s so hard to lose a loved one, even when you know they are rejoicing in Heaven. I pray that his life will continue to touch people and bring souls to God. RIP Dan. We’ll miss you until we get there.

What about September?

So much is going on in the news and things happening in the world. The crazy weather patterns. The crazy way people act. The crazy comet, Elenin, heading towards earth. The crazy riots in the Mideast.  The crazy defaulting debt and economy. What does it all mean? Why is it all pointing to September?

This message gave me goosebumps!!! This guy is a great speaker and explains why and how Jesus’ return is very soon… sooner than you may think. Take a minute to listen, it gets really, really good towards the end. (besides, he’s funny) :)

Could September 2011 be a significant month as it relates to Bible Prophecy? Pastor JD looks at several prophecies, all of which point to a most interesting month in September of this year.

The only thing I would add is… don’t prepare for it to happen in September. We should live each day serving God and doing our best to live like Jesus wants too… we never know when we will get to meet Him in person.

Maranatha and God bless!

The Belief of Jesus’ Return

I believe in the Rapture or the return of Jesus Christ with all my heart. I believe it’s very soon. Much more soon than many will admit. I find other’s reaction to it when mentioned very interesting. Today, a pastor stopped by my house to see if there were any children that would like to go to vacation Bible school. My mom and this minister got into a discussion. She asked him if he believed in the rapture. He said, “The Rapture?… Some what…. er… the Rapture… well.. yeah… um.. yes, I do.” I was astonished to see a minister hem haw around such an important event. If you read the Bible, it tells of this blessed event and that we, as Christians are to be watching and waiting for it.

However, lately, the Rapture has came under a lot of criticism and mocking. This would be expected from unbelievers but much of it is coming from some claiming to be Christians. I have never seen “Christians” get so hateful as those that try to put down a pre-tribulation Rapture. It’s like the fangs and claws come out on them. We live in an age when people’s beliefs are upside down. Wrong is right, right is wrong. The respect our ancestors had for God and fellow mankind, much less themselves, is missing. Now, people live for today. They refuse to think about tomorrow so you can forget about getting them to think about a Rapture and where their souls will spend eternity. They refuse to see or serve a God that cannot abide sin and will cast sinners into hell for eternity. This would make them have to take a long hard look at their lives, how they are living. They do not want to be held accountable… so they deny it. They deny that there is a Rapture, they deny what the Bible calls tribulation, they deny the fact that they will be held accountable for how they live and whether they accept the gift of salvation and many even deny the existence of  Jesus Christ and God.

A high school friend wrote the following in response to a discussion on facebook. It’s very good so I would like to share it with you.

The Belief of Jesus’ Return

The belief that Christ would return in one’s lifetime has been held by faithful Christians since New Testament times (in 2 Thessalonians Paul actually counters the belief that Christ had already returned). This belief rises from the nature of the language used by both Christ Himself and other New Testament authors. In Acts 2:17 Peter explains that what they were witnessing was what Joel prophesied concerning the ‘last days.’ In Revelation 1:3 John tells us that ‘the time is near.’ Throughout the New Testament we have language which speaks of the imminent return of Christ, admonishing us to be watchful, anticipating His return when He comes to judge sin and save those who trust in Him.

In Matthew 24 Jesus gives His disciples the parable of the fig tree, teaching them to recognize the signs preceding His return, just as one anticipates figs soon after he see the leaves on the tree. Although we cannot know the day or the hour, Jesus tells us that believers should know when it is approaching. Noah did not know the day in which God would send the waters on the earth, but he knew it was imminent when he had the animals in the ark and God closed the door. The unbelievers, however, continued on with life as normal until they were swept away by the flood waters. Jesus said this is how His coming would be.

Given Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 24:45-51,the prudent action for the follower of Jesus is to live as if Christ will return at any moment. It does not work out well for the evil slave when he decides his master’s return is far off (v48-51), only to be caught unprepared at his unexpected return. Judgment, not salvation, awaits him.

Since judgment awaits the unbeliever at Christ’s return, it seems only loving to warn of the impending judgment and the coming wrath of God against sin. We do not do this to scare people into believing, but because we understand that God is ‘not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance’ (2 Pet. 3:9). He has called us to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ which must include the certainty of sin and punishment for the unbeliever. There’s no good news without the bad news; we can’t fully understand the love of God until we understand His wrath toward our sin. Once we understand that God’s wrath toward believer’s sins was poured out on Christ at the cross, the depth of His love comes full into view. So we call sinners to repentance because ‘now is the acceptable time…now is the day of salvation’ (2 Cor. 6:2).

It is interesting that Jesus’ final words in all of Scripture call us to expect His return at any moment: “Yes, I am coming quickly” (Rev. 22:20).

With the Apostle John we say ‘Come, Lord Jesus.’

Certainly the truth of Christ is what should be held forth; Paul says it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Rom 1:16). False teachings and false prophecy have no place in evangelism. In reading what you wrote, I think what you are referring to is not so much false prophecy as incorrectly interpreting current events as fulfilled prophecy. Make no mistake, there are many bible prophecies remaining to be fulfilled, and we are wise to understand what has been prophesied so that, should it come to pass in our lifetime, we will not be caught off guard. However, much damage has been done to the cause of Christ in the past 50-60 years by those who claim every world event is a fulfillment of prophecy. The claims are always premature, and time always exposes the error. Its a vicious cycle, and I’ve listened to several men repeatedly claim ‘This is it!’ only to be proven wrong. I believe some, but not all, of this interpreting of events is done simply for profit. The problem is, these men cry wolf so often that the church has lost any credibility it may have had in the eyes of the world.

Scripture clearly teaches we are living in the last days (i.e. Acts 2:17) but that language speaks more of an era or a period of time. They are called the last days (or end times) because the next major event in redemption’s history is the return of Christ, when our salvation becomes complete.

One reason we in the Western world sometimes have difficulty living in anticipation of Christ’s return is that we have become too comfortable in this world. Titus referred to the appearing of the Lord as the blessed hope (2:13) because it meant an end to the persecution of the people of God, when everything would be set right, and the enemies of God would be finally and forever defeated. When all our needs and most of our wants are met, we hope very little. But our persecuted brothers and sisters around the globe (and there are many of them) hope greatly in the return of Christ, waiting with the rest of creation for ‘our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body’ (Rom. 8:23-25).

I hope that I don’t come off sounding like I have it all together; I don’t. I struggle with being too comfortable in this world like most other believers. As CS Lewis said, the problem with man is not that God finds our desires too great, but too small. We are to easily satisfied. I pray that all believers everywhere become increasingly dissatisfied with the things of this world. I pray that we become like Abraham, who was looking for ‘the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God (Heb. 11:10), and that discontentment with this world will leave us longing passionately for the one to come.

Salvation in Jesus Christ entails so much more that forgiveness of sin. God has taken us, His enemies, and made us co-heirs with His Son! The truth of the gospel cannot end with the forgiveness of sin, but it must surely begin there. The truth of God’s judgment of sin must be clearly communicated, but so must the riches of His glorious grace! To neglect either is to preach an incomplete gospel.

By Scott Guthrie

I truly belief this return of Jesus is very, very soon. Some see it coming… some are watching and waiting for it. Most refuse to think about it as it would mean they would need to take a long look at how they are living. I pray that you are ready when Jesus does come. The tribulation that will follow is going to be literally a type of hell on earth. Pray for your unsaved loved ones and friends. Above all… be ready yourself and be watching and waiting as the Bible instructs us. Jesus could come at any moment… be ready!

I have another website that goes more into the Rapture and tribulation. Visit for more info on the Rapture and Tribulation.

Today is my anniversary. I am so thankful to have been blessed with not only the best husband a girl could ask for but also my very best friend. We shared more love in our time together than most people have in twice as many years. I love him and miss him terribly but I have God’s promise of eternity with him. I am truly blessed. If you’ve lost a loved one, may the video below bless you as it has me.

You’re in a better place, I’ve heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I’ve rejoiced for you
But the reason why I’m broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you.

I close my eyes and I see your face.
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place.
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow,
I’ve never been more homesick than now.

Help me Lord cause I don’t understand your ways,
The reason why I wonder if I’ll ever know.
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I’m still here so far away from home.

I close my eyes and I see your face.
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place.
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow,
I’ve never been more homesick than now.

In Christ, there are no goodbyes
And in Christ, there is no end
So I’ll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again
To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home’s where my heart is then I’m out of place
Lord, won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won’t you give me strength to make it through somehow

I’ve never been more homesick than now.

If you are missing someone, hold on to Jesus. His grace is sufficient for each day.

Blessed with friends

Lately, I have been blessed with some wonderful new friends. After picking up an old craft my grandma taught me, crocheting, I found a crochet forum and joined. I have never met a nicer group of people than over at Crochetville. They are like a family over there. Knowing that July is a hard month for me with my anniversary on the 4th and Pat going to Heaven on the 20th, a couple of my friends have sent me surprises to make me smile. It surely worked! I was very surprised and not only did it give me a smile, it gave me a wonderful feeling to know that someone cared and was thinking of me.

First I received a package from Mary Jo in Florida. She made me a couple of beautiful hook cases and filled them with goodies. I have one that I can organize all my hooks in and one I can take with me for on the go projects. They are just perfect! Thank you so much, Mary Jo! :)

Then, Sue gives away one of her fabulous totes each month. We call it Turtle’s TLC Tote Club. Well… guess who gets to be July 2011 Turtle’s TLC Tote Lady??? Yep! Me!!! I was so happy when my daughter came home from the mail with another package from Florida. This one has a beautiful felted tote. I have never seen a felted crocheted item and it’s just gorgeous. Thank you, Sue for inviting me to the club! :D

On top of being spoilt by Sue and Mary Jo, I was also in a swap at the ‘Ville. Nicole was my partner and she spoiled me rotten with my package from her. I got a purse, a very cool black/white tote, some yarn, a crocheted wash cloth and an Edgerydoo with material to make baby blankets for charity.  Nicole is the hockey fan partner that I made the Hockey Puck Purse for. :) Thanks Nicole for the very cool swap package. :)

I am very honored to have such wonderful friends and I thank God each and every day for them. Even though July is a sad month for me, they gave me reasons to smile. God has blessed me and continues to be with me every day.

The Puck Purse

Yep. I like hockey! We used to go watch the Tulsa Drillers and Missouri State Ice Bears. I was lucky enough to get paired with another hockey fan for a bag/purse/tote swap recently. I came up with an idea of a hockey puck bag for her and yay! she loved it. :) I thought I would share the pattern for any other hockey fans out there.  Please let me know if you find any mistakes and enjoy!

Another Birthday

I totally dread any day with any special meaning since Pat is gone. It just seems so pointless without him that I don’t even bother celebrating. Today is my birthday. Last night I was really down. I couldn’t sleep… then finally cried myself to sleep. Sometimes the pain of missing him is so overwhelming, it just engulfs me. Every night, I pick a scripture to post on my facebook. Sometimes, I choose one from opening the Bible. Sometimes, I use a verse of the day app. Last night, the verse came up:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.  John 16:20

God never fails me.  When I am at my lowest, He puts His arms around me and comforts me. Do I still hurt? Yes. Do I still miss my husband? Yes. But I know that I am not alone and that God is with me. I know that His infinite wisdom sees all and knows all and that He will never let me down. I know that He has a reason for me to be here without Pat, so I continue each day, trying to carry out His plan for me.

I did have a couple of good moments today. I received an email from a lady that enjoyed my blog. It’s always nice to get mail saying that something you posted helped someone. Sometimes I’ve gotten hate mail because I publicly say I love Jesus. You wouldn’t believe. :(  But this was a nice email. I’ve always said, I don’t want to be left on this earth without Pat, but if I have to be here, then let me touch one person’s life with God’s light and love. If I can help just one person… then it’s all worth it.

The second nice thing that happened was a surprise. I truly believe without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is coming VERY soon. I adopted some rescue horses last fall and have a guy that brings hay to them. He is a Mennonite. Today, when he delivered the hay, he told my dad he was moving away so he wanted to get us as well stocked up as possible.  He said he could bring 10 bales out at a time. Well, our horses usually go through a bale a week. My dad mentioned that he believed we were in the end times and that the Rapture could occur any time now. With the way things were in Israel and the Middle East, we may not need those 10 bales. Then, the hay guy, a Mennonite, AGREED with him! He said he believed it would be very soon, too. We may not need more than 4-8 more bales if even that!!

Now, don’t get me wrong. None of us is date setting. We just see the signs that the Bible tells us about and as it says, you will know the season. I truly believe we are in that season… and that is the best birthday gift of all… knowing that I will stand in the presence of Jesus and see my husband, soon.

The Narrow Way

As one commenter on the video stated, “This is probably the most important sermon ever given!” Many people believe they are saved because they repeated a prayer as a child… but they continue to lead a life style of sin. They are on the wide path… only the  narrow path leads to Heaven, though. Which path are you on? Are you 100% sure you are saved and ready to stand before God? Will He say, “Well done” or will He say, “Go away, I don’t know you”?  Take time to watch this video and see which path you are on.

All roads do not lead to Heaven. Only repentance through Jesus Christ, turning to Him for forgiveness and conforming to His will. The Bible says: “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me,” (John 14:6). I pray you meet Him personally and not only meet Him, but LIVE for Him. Time is short.

A Dream

This is a dream from David Wilkerson. I think that everyone that calls themselves a Christian should take the time to listen to the entire message but this is just a part of it… the dream.

Matthew 24:42-44: “Watch ye therefore for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

(Praying) Lord you spoke so clearly to me this past week in a dream. You told me to preach this this afternoon, and I obey you…

I don’t get many dreams, and I don’t preach on my dreams because I’m a bible preacher, and anything that does not conform to the word of God is to be rejected outright. I’m just telling you how God awakened my soul, how I should preach this more often…I want you to know this is not doctrine, it’s not some new revelation, it’s simply the Holy Spirit prompting me, and speaking to me about His coming, I don’t know want to build any doctrine about it, remember that. I don’t have much confidence in dreams, any dream vision or revelation has to absolutely be framed in scripture.

Now having said that, let me share with you without trying to talk to you about doctrine or anything else, just the Holy Ghost talking to me. In my dream I was suddenly awakened by the knowledge that I had been snatched, I had been caught up, and I was in some kind of conveyance, I don’t know if it was a chariot, I didn’t see the conveyance, but I knew that there were others in it and that there was an angel of the Lord… there was a sense of just racing swiftly thru streets and into houses, this conveyance knew no barriers and I had a sense that I was on my way home, I’m saved, the Lord has come.

I am being gathered by the angel of the Lord, the chariots of the Lord, there are thousands upon thousands, the coming of the Lord is as lightining is from the east to the west…there was a sense of swiftness, but it was almost as I was seeing it in slow motion, this lightning coming, I was seeing it in slow motion, I didn’t see a driver, I didn’t see an angel, I didn’t see the conveyance, I just had a sense, I knew I was being carried and taken and it was moving swiftly, and people were being snatched from homes and from the streets.

And I remember specifically going into a particular home and there were 3 people that I recognized, 2 were friends and 1 was a family member, and we went right by, and there was as sense, a sudden sense, oh God, they were being left behind, and the Lord allowed me to, for a few fleeting moments, to sense the terror of what it would be like to be left behind when the angels of the Lord come and gather His elect from the 4 winds.

I was made to know at that time that even those who call themselves christians, and were not really christians, who despised the grace of God went out and sinned and said I can easily confess, never did forsaking their sin, there was a sense that even though they were sleeping they were aware, there was an awareness that the Lord is coming and there is a sudden moment because I saw hands being raised, people reaching out and waving.

In fact as we kept moving on there were people that were moving and trying to get the attention of this driver, this conveyance, and I was screaming and yelling get out in the open, as if I thought if they were out in the open they could be seen and get caught up but it went swiftly on, but there was a sense that I have never experienced in my life, even though all my life my father taught on the coming of the Lord, my grandfather taught on the coming of the lord, taught about it.

The bible says we shall all be changed, in the twinkling of an eye, suddenly we’re going to be changed, the bible says, this corrupt body shall put on an incorrupt body just like His. And the bible says that we are to be prepared and ready, expecting, the bible says He is coming for those who look for His appearing. And those who are expecting, even though sleep they are going to be caught, if it’s in the middle of the night.

Now I’m not going to be get into the doctrine of the rapture, when this happens, before the tribulation, middle of the tribulation or after the tribulation, I am just telling you I had a sense of the horror it’s going to be for those who knew the gospel, who had one appeal after another, who knew the grace and the mercy of God and they were not ready. They were not taken, they were not gathered in this, and I remember the swiftness of moving, and seeing the people left behind, the conveyance just passing by, and this terrible sense. Lord I know I’m saved, I know I’m redeemed, I’m going home, but those 2 friends and that member of my family… and there was a terror. Two shall be sleeping in a bed, one shall be taken the other left…watch therefore He’s coming as a thief in the night. He’s coming folks.

There was no sense of speed , there was no sense of traveling, but suddenly I was stepping with everyone around me, we were stepping as out of a cloud, out of a fog, out of time, into eternity, suddenly. There was no sense of being carried out into a cosmos or anywhere else, suddenly we were…Home. We were in eternity and I remember this sense of absolute serenity, as we stepped out into eternity thru this cloud, there was a sense of peace, and all I could see around me people were feeling their bodies, they were feeling their hands, they were caressing their faces, there was no shouting. I didn’t see Jesus anywhere,it was just a sense, it happened so quickly, it seemed to be a gathering place, the bible say He’s going to gather His elect from the the 4 winds, and suddenly I looked and there were my 2 friends, and my loved one coming thru the cloud and into eternity.

Nobody was looking at each other, nobody, there was no embracing, there was just a peace, an incredible peace, and I experienced it for a moment, I am home, that earth that I was on is gone, I am beyond the reach of satan, there is no sin, there is no possibility of ever being lost, I am eternally His, He did what He said He would do, He said He would come with His angels, He came with His angels, he did everything I preached, everything I said, It’s true! He’s all sufficient, He’s everything that we need!

There was a peace and a a serenity beyond anything I could imagine… and people were just awed, in silence, there was an awe, there was a peace that was absoultely indescribable, and the sense… it was a sense, it’s all over, it’s all over, it was all… it was all true. That sense of reality and truth – that was not the real world, this is the real world, this is eternity, that’s all passed away, it was just a dream, it was just grass, that’s what the bible says, the flesh is just grass, it comes up, it withers and it’s gone. Time is just a little piece, eternity is a great big realm, God cut a little piece and He gave it to man, with His grace and mercy, saying, here is My grace, My mercy, My glory. He gives you space and time to repent and trust in Him…

But God wait a minute, all of these who didn’t come, all of those who were left behind, who thought they were prepared and thought they were ready, they are not here, what about them Lord… they’re lost, there was a sense in me, now folks that will not be there but I believe God was letting me feel the sense of this lostness of those who were gone, and suddenly as I was thinking about all those who had not been gathered, I woke up, I sat right up, and these words were like silent thunder in my head- “David, be ye ready is no joking matter.” And I lay back in my pillow and God said, “My people are not taking it seriously, they talk about it but they are not taking it seriously, and many, many are going to be left behind- they are not ready… the age of grace is about to end.”

You can listen to the entire message here:

Be Ye Ready is No Joking Matter by David Wilkerson

Description: This is a chilling message which should awake and shake anyone who listens to it prayerfully. Much of the church is fast asleep as the foolish virgins with no oil were, in Matt. 25. How do you know if you are ready? Get your eyes on Jesus, focus on his purposes for your life, not the things of this world, (Col 3:1-3), Stay in the Word daily; seeking him, for how shall you escape if you neglect so great a salvation? (Heb. 2:3). Settle every grudge, forgive those who have hurt you and don’t be a smiter or unbeliever! If you really BELIEVE he’s coming, does your life reflect that? Or are you at ease in Zion? Pray before you listen to this, and while you listen to this, for the Holy Spirit to shed his Light in your heart.

The Rock

With all the storms, the economy, the overseas rioting, there is much tragedy in the world right now. All over, people are hurting emotionally, physically and even spiritually. The Bible tells us the last days are like a women in labor. The ‘birth pains’ start out slow and get stronger and stronger until there is no breaks in between. I believe we are in that final time. Tornadoes, earthquakes, animals dying in thousands, rumors of war… it’s all here. Everyone knows it’s just a matter of time before our economy totally collapses. With all the chaos, where do you turn?

What can people do in this perilous time? The most important thing they can do is repent and turn away from sin. Plead for mercy.  Ask  Jesus into your heart… and then trust Him to do what He says. He promises to take care of you. He promises to save you from the wrath that is coming. He promises eternal life. The Bible says, “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. ” (Psalm 62:1-2)

Where do I go when there’s nobody else to turn to?
Who do I talk to when nobody wants to listen?
Who do I lean on when there’s no foundation stable?
I go to The Rock, I know He’s able, I go to The Rock

I go to The Rock of my salvation
I go to the stone that the builders rejected
I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me
When the earth all around me is sinking sand
On Christ, the solid rock I stand
When I need a shelter, when I need a friend
I go to The Rock

(I Go To The Rock lyrics by Dottie Rambo)
