Turtle Tales Bookmark

I like turtles. :)  I like live turtles, plush turtles, turtle nick nacks even crochted turtles!  :) I’m so glad Noah didn’t forget the turtles and the tortoises when he was loading that ark! This turtle bookmark is great for the guys in your life that might think a heart bookmark is a bit too sappy. :P It’s worked in one piece. Enjoy. :)

Materials Needed:

Small amount of WW Yarn
US “E” Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
fo =  fasten off
inc = increase (2 stitches in one stitch)
st = stitch

Different size hooks will produce different size turtles / bookmarks. Adjust bookmark tail length desired if needed.

Special stitch: 6 dc popcorn over next 2 stitches = 3 dc in first st, 3 dc in second st, take your hook out of  loop, insert hook into first dc, insert hook back into loop and pull through combining all 6 dc into one popcorn stitch.

Turtle:
In magic circle:

Rnd 1:  9 sc (9)

Bookmark:
ch 70, 3 sc in 2nd ch st from hook, 3 sc in next 14 ch st, sl st to next ch st. fo.

Using yarn needle, draw yarn tail down through center of curly bookmark tail to conceal. Use yarn needle to hide yarn tail from magic ring. Enjoy your Turtle Tales Bookmark. :)
