Can I get a Witness?

Most Christians think going to church, saying a prayer on Sunday morning and being overall nice is enough. That is all they are required as a Christian. I don’t believe this is true. I believe we are each created for a specific reason but we are all put here to tell share the Word of God.

The past few years, God has laid it on my heart about witnessing to others.  The Bible says, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15) I don’t think this was a request. I think it was more of an order to each and every one of us.

I’m not a people person… so this particular order from  God was not an easy one for me. I prefer to stay hidden and unnoticed.  I still felt I needed to do more though. I mean if Jesus could give His life to save me, is it so hard for me to tell someone else about it? I have made it my goal to tell as many people as I can about God.

After much research into Bible prophecy and past and current news, I am 100% positive we are living in the last days… the end times. This means Jesus is coming back soon for the true believers. I know that feel good preachers have made hell, rapture and tribulation seem like fairy tales that aren’t real, but it’s all in the Bible and that is the true Word of God. It’s easy enough to read for yourself and then connect it with what is happening today.

I don’t know about you, but when I stand before God, I want to hear “Well done, my good and faithful servant” and not “Go away, I don’t know you”.

So if you call yourself a Christian, I challenge you…
look inside yourself and see what you are doing to spread the message of Jesus.

If you are shy, there are many ways to witness. Post a verse on your facebook or twitter. Just telling someone Jesus loves you or God bless. Being a good example is the greatest witness. You have no idea how many people are watching your life.

Another way, is to leave cool tracts (witnessing tools) around. Leave them on the table when you are done eating at a restaurant, stick them on a gas pump when you’re getting gas.. millions of other ideas of where you can leave them. If just one of them helps someone, then you’ve done a good thing!

One of my very favorite tracts is the Ticket to Heaven. It looks like a real ticket and the other side has a Ticket to Hell.  It gives the message that people need to hear, does not cost much and best of all… you’re spreading God’s message! Give it a try. Now I’ll leave you with Grand Funk Railroad’s very own Mark Farner… “Jesus… Some Kind of Wonderful”.

What a wonderful post and I loved being reminded about witnessing and sharing the reason for my joy in my life.

I too am not really a people person and would rather hide in my house. I don’t go out into the public un less I just have to. I love your web site. I just came across it today, and I love this song. I know I should be witnessing, and right now I’m trying to witness to my son-in-law. We (my husband and I) just lost our son unexpectedly 10 months ago and are still greatly affected by his death. We weren’t with him at the time, in fact no family was with him and we all are having a hard time with this. I just can’t quit crying or forgive myself for alot of things I feel like I should have done. I love and miss him so very much. Thank you for letting me sound off.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I can’t tell you to quit crying. It’s been almost 4 years since I lost my Pat and I still cry almost daily. I can tell you that if you lean on God, He will get you through each and every day. His grace is sufficient for each day.. even when you don’t want it to be. God can use your tragedy and how you react to it as a witness to people that you don’t even know is watching you. You never know how many lives yours touches but it does. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and just hang in there. You really need to forgive yourself though. God forgives you and expects the same from you. I know it’s hard, but you can do it. Hang in there and sending hugs, prayer and love your way.
