A Great Man of God

… was just called home. David Wilkerson, pastor, author, prophet of God, founder of World Challenge and Teen Challenge. He was most known for his best-selling book, “The Cross and the Switchblade” ,  documenting his early ministry in life  in which God sent him to New York City to witness to gang members and drug addicts. David was in a car accident in Texas today and killed instantly. His wife is in ICU and I ask that you keep her and their family in your prayers.

David is truly a Godly man and has led many people to the Lord. God gave him a vision in the ’70′s which David shared in his book titled “The Vision”. The prophecies that he wrote about are coming to pass right now. David has witnessed to people about God and encouraged them in their walks with Jesus for most of his life. He was a watchman in these end times and warned about what is to come and spread the Truth  telling people that they needed to turn to God.

While I find it very sad that we no longer have David here with us, he is rejoicing in Heaven.  I find it most interesting that God chose this time to bring him Home. I believe it is a milestone or turning point in the world we live in. I believe that he was taking Home because there is no longer a need to watch and warn. We are very close to the return of Jesus Christ. I believe the true believers will be going home very soon.

Also notable, we are having even more severe weather today than we did yesterday. Weathermen are claiming we are watching history being made with the amount of flooding and numbers of devastating tornadoes that are ravishing our country. Many are losing their lives in these storms. Most of those thought they had many years left. The Bible states:

‎”IF MY PEOPLE, who are called by My Name, will HUMBLE THEMSELVES and PRAY and SEEK MY FACE and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

My foremost prayer in life is that people will begin to repent and seek God’s face. Time is running out. For some, it’s even shorter than they think. I pray that you are ready to meet the Lord.

I will leave you with David’s last devotional that he posted earlier today.  WHEN ALL MEANS FAIL. I think it’s amazing what God laid on his heart to share with others on his last day with us.

May God bless you.
